1. Why did you join National Foods?
I had been working part time in accounts payable whilst I was at university and wanted to learn more upon
the completion of my degree. I liked the sound of National Foods as it is a large company and the graduate role appealed as it provided exposure to try different areas of accounting which gave me a good understanding of the different roles and is helping me decide which area I’m best suited to.
2. What is your current position and a typical day like?
At the moment we are rotating into a new role, so I am currently learning my new role in the Tax team which
will involve assisting in preparing FBT returns, Income Tax returns and BAS, in addition to coaching the graduate
who took over my previous role in financial accounting.
3. If you have changed roles since you joined, can you elaborate on the roles you have had and the highlights?
I have just rotated out of the financial accounting position which involved a busy month end with tight
deadlines. The position also involved monthly reconciliations of system and corporate accounts and the
balancing of our inter-company transactions.
4. What are your thoughts on National Foods as a company?
I really enjoy working for National Foods. I find it a friendly place to work and I’m currently learning a
lot about the business and which type of accountant I’d like to become.
5. What advice would you give to a graduate considering applying for a role with National Foods?
Apply for a graduate position at National Foods. I have found working here to be very rewarding and think
it’s a great opportunity for someone who has just finished their degree.
